Our Studio
Our new private studio located in Graydon Hill is dedicated to the study of music. Music lessons are conducted in safe, comfortable, private setting with our music instructors providing professional and courteous music instruction.
Artist House Studio Policies
Promptness
Students should be on time for their lessons, since extensions of time are not always available. Lessons will begin and end promptly at the specified times. Your lesson time has been set aside for you, so please make every effort to arrive promptly so that you will have your full allotment of time. If you are late, your lesson will only go until the scheduled time.
Practice
Regular practice not only makes a student a better musician but studies show that music enhances brain development to make them an overall better student. We encourage all students to set aside a special time of day for practice and make it a routine. Practicing for at least 20-30 minutes five days a week is more conducive to learning than 60 minutes of practice the day before their music lesson.
Preparedness
Students are expected to come to their lessons prepared. Adequate preparation includes regular practice and completion of any assigned homework. Students are requested to rest before the lesson. It is not advisable for any student to come to their lesson immediately after football practice or other sport activities. Students should regain energy before the lesson begins so they can be focused on learning.
Books
All music materials (repertoire books, study books, technical books and theory books) will be recommended by their instructors and must be purchased by the students.
Online Lessons
Online lessons are available via zoom. Zoom is a free app that can easily be downloaded to any PC, Laptop, or smartphone! If the student has access to a laptop or tablet then we highly recommend using Zoom on this device as the screen is larger and they will have a better means to view the instruction.

Payment Methods
Please contact us for rates. Lesson fees can be paid monthly, at the beginning of each month, or at the beginning of each semester. We accept payments by e-transfer, debit card, credit card, personal cheques and cash. Please note, any returned cheques will be subject to an additional service fee.
Cancellations
If you are unable to attend your lessons, 24 hours notice is required to qualify for a make-up lesson. Three make up lessons are given for the entire music year provided you have notified the teacher. Without notice, the student will be considered a “no-show” and the lesson will be cancelled. This type of absence is NOT valid for a make-up lesson.
Recital/Reception
Each year we hold an annual recital to provide students the opportunity to showcase their best work. The recital is non-compulsory but we encourage all students to participate as this is an excellent forum for students to meet and watch their fellow musician classmates perform. This helps build student confidence with performing in front of others while also preparing them for practical exams at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Further, we feel it provides a means to inspire students to continue pursuing their musical goals.
